The Pilgrimage Trail of Kosovo Village

Welcome to Pilgrimage trail “Holy Spirit”, Kosovo village

The Pilgrim trail emerged as an idea between the people of the “Kalevo Bardtse” neighbourhood. It is where the trail sprang in the fall of 2020. Three main people helped (Ron, Stanislav and Sasho) put the main sign at the beginning of the trail. Then the chapels of St. Petka, St. Demetrius and St. George were gradually built and erected. Next to each chapel, there is a board with information. It tells about the saint who is the patron saint of the respective chapel.
At present, the chapel of St. Haralmpius is being built by Daniela and Stanislav. The chapels of St. Andrew and the Holy Brothers Peter and Paul are under construction. Anyone who wants can contribute with work, materials or a donation to continue this hopefully God-pleasing endeavour.

The houses in Kosovo village are unique too, with their 200-300 years of history and wooden design from oak material. The buildings have stone masonry mixed with wood, the roof is tiled, there is a balcony in the middle, and the chimneys are made of stone.
Some of the postcards show pictures of the restored houses, which are part of the Kosovo Guest Houses complex. People from all over the world come to enjoy the unsurpassed natural beauty and spiritual energy that abounds here.

The postcards collection are from the village of Kosovo, a traditional and unique place in the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria. An area where the most ancient civilization originated, with unparalleled knowledge of the Universe.
The village is surrounded by untouched nature, with four rivers flowing through it. Kosovo was settled in the early 17th century by settlers from Staro Selo near White Church Monastery. Its pinnacle was in the late 19th century, and houses from this age remain today. Kosovo has typical Rhodope architecture. It has 63 cultural monuments, of which five have national significance. Most known is the Church of Ascension from 1851 and this year is going to celebrate 170 years.
